GP2: ROUND 7 RACE 1 MAGNY COURS, FRANCE

Great Britain’s Adam Carroll had frustrating start to his GP2 race in France after being hit from behind by fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton.

After making a good start, Carroll moved up from 6th position to 5th at the first corner but shortly after he felt the presence of Hamilton who braked too late and launched into the back of him. Spanish outfit Racing Engineering worked hard to change the damaged rear wing and sent the 23 year old from Northern Ireland back out to re-join the race a lap down but from then on he was playing a chasing game and driving in the searing heat to no real success in 20th position.

A frustrated Carroll said, “It was a real shame as at the end of the race we were running will some real pace but my race was over long before then. I was pleased with my start but that’s about all!”
