Graham heads the charge for Britec scholarship in Queensland PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 20 July 2008
Adam Graham (Lismore, NSW) in the Steggles / McLaughlin Freightlines entry has headed the charge for the Britek Motorsport Scholarship at fifth round of the Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship at Queensland Raceway. Graham finished the round fourth overall, to be fifth in the championship chase, just six points from third.

Graham finished third in races #1 and #2, before placing fifth in the final race of the weekend.

Minda Motorsport teammates Martin Swindells (Brisbane, Qld) in the Refrigerated Rental & Sales entry and Ben Walter (Hobart, Tas) in the Road Solutions entry both finished just outside the top-10.

“Good to bring home another solid points haul,” said Graham.

“We did go into the round aiming for a better result, but the competition really stepped-up this weekend.

“I’m very keen to finish the series in the top-3 and that’s still very much the goal.”

Britek Motorsport Director and Director of Minda Motorsport, Bruin Beasley was satisfied with the weekend.

“Adam deserved a top-3 this weekend,” said Beasley.

“He drove very well, but the competition was just that bit better.

“The previous round at Darwin was a little disappointing, so this was a good comeback.

“Martin had good speed, but was unlucky with some technical issues as well as overdriving on occasions.

“Unfortunately Ben arrived with a pretty bad flu and all things considered did a very good job.

“Phillip Island is not until September and we will work on improving the cars and look at some testing ahead of that race.”

The next round of the Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship will be at Phillip Island on 12-14 September.
