Lancaster returns to racing action in the sixth rounds of the Formula 3
Euroseries in Germany this weekend determined for a
return to the podium. The 19
year-old F3 rookie has already climbed the podium this season following a
superb third place in only his second year in cars.
Now
the Multiflight-backed driver intends to go even better, with a visit to
the top step at the Nürburgring high on his agenda. Last time out the BRDC
Superstar failed to finish but prior to that a rapid pace in qualifying
and the races has set the Leeds teenager up well for a
confident return to the track ahead of the two races this
weekend.
“I’m
really looking forward to getting back out on the track this weekend. I love the circuit; it has a good
combination of fast corners and a flowing chicane. It will be a real
challenge. I’ve raced here
before but only on the short circuit where the others will no doubt have
more track knowledge.
“However, after the pace we’ve
had over the last few races I’m still expecting to be up there with them
from the first session. The quality of the field is very high and although
the circuit is reasonably OK for slipstreaming and overtaking, the
closeness of the competition will mean it’s critical to get a good
qualifying position.
“And
that will be exactly my aim, to get a good grid slot for race one. I overdrove in Zandvoort last time
out so this weekend I’ll be concentrating on not trying too hard and just
let the times come. I know
the car is quick and I know I am too.
“But
I’ve learnt from my mistake in Zandvoort and will be approaching this
weekend completely different.
I intend to come home with a load of points from the two races and
I definitely feel another podium finish is on the cards. So I plan to put it all together
in qualifying and get up onto the first two rows where I
belong.”

will be on track for free practice on Thursday prior to the critical
30-minute qualifying on Friday. Race one will take place on
Saturday with the second, again shown live on Motors TV, taking place on
Sunday morning.
