Team Bruichladdich Radical Announces SR9 Campaign |

Team Bruichladdich Radical has announced today that it is to race in the 2006 Le Mans Series driving a Radical SR9 in the LMP2 class. The car will be supported by the Radical factory and will be driven by Tim Greaves and Stuart Moseley. A shakedown took place today at Pembrey in preparation for the first race this weekend at Nurburgring. Pictures below show the car with drivers and the Bruichladdich Girls.
Tim Greaves is behind the team and has brought together two of his enterprises, the innovative British road and racecar company and the Islay distillery. Tim’s story is somewhat similar to that of the eponymous Victor Kiam ‘I liked the product so much I bought the company’ as seen on countless
Remington TV commercials. He has owned one of every car that Radical
has ever built, starting in 1998 with chassis number eight, a Clubsport
car and this SR9 will keep his record going. His first investment in
the Radical company was in 2000 and provided the funding for the
development of the SR3 and expansion into the current larger premises
on the outskirts of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
The Team Bruichladdich Radical SR9 will be the second from the
production line and its completion will allow the team to compete in
the Le Mans Series for the remainder of the season starting at
Nurburgring, Germany (15th-16th July).
Stuart Moseley was one of the drivers that drove the Rollcentre Radical
SR9 at Le Mans last month in what has been described as one of the most
successful Le Mans car debuts ever. The difference between the two cars
will be the engine with Team Bruichladdich Radical opting for an AER
unit.
Team Manager and Race Engineer Paul Thomas will also add to the high
pedigree of skill base in the team. He has worked with Toyota F1, and
on the Toyota GT One LMGTP as well as the number eight Bentley EXP
LMGTP.

Having come so far with Radical cars it’s a logical next step to have a
sportscar team, but racing at Le Mans is ever closer and that’s an
amazing prospect. I’m absolutely delighted with the car. It drives
really well so I’m looking forward to LMS at Nurburgring and getting my
first real SR9 race action. If this is what it’s like straight out of
the box I can’t wait to see what we can do with work on set-up and
development! Longer term we’re looking to have a two car team for 2007
competing in LMS and hopefully a class win both there and at Le Mans.”
