Sportscar
ace David Brabham will contest the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix at Fælledparken, Denmark, 2-3 August 2008. Competing
by invitation in Royal Pro-Am, Brabham will race a 1968 Ford Mustang alongside Denmark’s
Christian Nordal.
The
Royal Pro-Am category will be hotly contested and form a veritable who’s
who in sportscar racing. Brabham, who sealed his second consecutive GT1 class
Le Mans 24-Hour victory in 2008 with the Aston Martin DBR9, will be joined by
eight-time Le Mans winner and Danish star Tom Kristensen, Jan Magnussen, Vanina
Ickx and Dindo Capello.
The
elite field will also be joined by HRH Prince Joachim while HRH Princess Marie
will present the Royal Pro-Am podium winners with their trophies.
“I’m
very much looking forward to racing in Copenhagen
as well as enjoying the beautiful city and the event with my family,”
said Brabs. “It’ll be great fun racing against fellow Le Mans 24-Hour and ALMS
drivers on an informal footing but, with the excellent calibre of drivers
taking part, the competition is sure to be fierce.”
Organised
by the Copenhagen Road Racing Company, this fantastic historic racing event in the
heart of Copenhagen
is in its eighth year. For full event details visit www.chgp.dk
