Turvey dominates at Spa to extend lead in the Mirror.co.uk British F3 Challenge Cup PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 02 August 2008
Oliver Turvey was the quickest driver on one of the world’s most challenging race circuits; the 7 kilometre Spa Francorchamp track in Belgium.  Turvey posted the fastest time in both Free Practice sessions and followed this up by claiming pole position for both Rounds 15 & 16 of the 2008 British F3 International Series

In Round 15 things went to plan despite losing the lead to New Zealand’s Brendon Hartley at the start of the race.  Turvey fought back and regained the lead two corners later and held on to the flag to record his second win of the season.

In Round 16 an engine failure on the grid caused Turvey to miss the race but British hopes were raised as Bedford’s Nick Tandy scored his first ever British F3 podium finish for both himself and his JTR team, finishing 3rd behind Brendon Hartley and Mexico’s Sergio Perez.

The next races will be held at Silverstone on Saturday 16 August and a week later the teams head to Romania capital to race on the streets of Bucharest.
