Early next week Nick
Percat will take off to the United Kingdom to compete in the Formula
Ford Festival held over the weekend of the 17th - 19th of October.
"The Festival" as it
is known, has for decades been the place to see future world champions
arrive on the world stage. With the likes of Australia's own Mark
Webber, and Russell Ingall victors at this special event many regard as
THE one to win as a junior racer.
Percat is teaming up
with the current festival winners Joe Tandy Racing, and will be driving
a similar car to the one he competes in Australia a Mygale SJ08.
Team owner Joe Tandy
is looking forward to having the super quick South Australian in one of
his cars " We've done a deal to have Nick in the car as it was pointed
out by the boss of Mygale, Bertrand Decoster that he is seriously fast,
and a talent that we couldn't pass up"
Nick will be testing
the car for JTR next Thursday at Donington Park, prior to a full 3 days
testing at Brands Hatch prior to the Festival starting on Friday.
While he is in the
UK, Nick will be teaming up with Rob Wilson, the acclaimed driver coach
to many an F1 star, to pass on some valuable tips prior to the all
important weekend.
With 7 wins and a
host of lap records currently in an Australian Formula Ford season that
will go down as one of the most competitive to date, Percat will be
looking to put the icing on the cake with a win at what could be seen
as the World Cup Final.
"I am certainly going
there with the aim of winning it, but its also a case of trying to
attract some financial backing for 2009 and onwards, with the right
result who knows where it might lead" commented Percat.
