CRAIG GORE ON FAST TRACK TO RECOVERY |

Team Australia co-owner Craig Gore is recovering from emergency bowel
surgery in a London hospital and is almost certain to miss the upcoming
Nikon Indy 300 on the Gold Coast from 23-26 October 2008.
The popular 41-year-old Queensland based entrepreneur is devastated he
may miss the race in which Will Power will drive his Aussie
Vineyards-backed entry.
Mr Gore was in London working with his UK partners on several of
his current developments including the Townsville Ocean Cruise
Terminal, Breakwater Marina and Hope Harbour Marina.

Development & Management said Mr Gore started to suffer stomach
cramps shortly after arriving in London last week
“Shortly after arriving in London Craig was suffering discomfort
and after receiving treatment it was discovered he had a perforated
bowel and required emergency surgery,” said Mr Adamson.
“He is recovering well in hospital and his doctor has ordered him
to rest for at least two weeks before he can think about coming home.”
Speaking from London Mr Gore said he was shattered about missing his beloved Indy for the second consecutive year.
Mr Gore, who makes a significant contribution to the event through
his team and event sponsorship, was forced to watch last year’s race
from his lounge room after suffering an inner-ear injury on a routine
helicopter flight.
“I just can’t believe this is happening, but I’m on the fast-track
to recovery and looking forward to a speedy return,” said Gore.
“I am sure every Australian will be 100% behind Will and Team
Australia and hopefully they will be able to bring home the winner’s
trophy.”
Gore’s General Practitioner, Dr Bill Anseline, has been in constant contact with Gore’s UK surgeons since the operation.
“The timing of the treatment for these types of illnesses is vital
and thankfully he was diagnosed quickly and successful emergency
surgery was carried out,” said Dr Anesline.
“He really needs to rest as much as he can and I would hope that
everyone will respect his privacy as he gets well enough to travel
home.”
Team Australia driver Will Power said the entire team wishes Craig a speedy recovery.
“Everyone who knows Craig will know he hasn’t taken to this well.
Everyone at Team Australia wishes Craig a quick recovery and we look
forward to doing the job for him on the streets of Surfers Paradise in
front of a huge home crowd.”
