Autosport
International, Europe’s largest motorsport show, is coming up fast and
the line-up of high performance car manufacturers exhibiting at the
show is growing by the day. Subaru has officially announced its
presence at the 2009 show with an exciting range of at least four
mind-blowing cars including STI and WRX derivations of the already
well-known Impreza.
The
respected Japanese power house is renowned for its tough rally pedigree
having spent the last 18 years successfully fighting across some of the
world’s hardest terrains as part of their World Rally Championship
(WRC) campaign.
Last
January, visitors of the show were able to bid on a special edition of
the Subaru Impreza WRX STI 320RB in memory of the late Richard Burns
with all proceeds given to charity. In the following months, Subaru
released their new Impreza 2008 and secured a podium place during the
Finnish World Rally with their WRC challenger.
First
launched in 1993, the Impreza has gone through many changes, invariably
exhibited at the Autosport International Show throughout the years. Its
rally counterpart has won championships whilst driven by some of the
world’s best pilots including the likes of the late World Rally
Champion, Colin McRae.
“It
is a great way to get in touch with the people who love our cars,”
states Mike McIntosh, Subaru’s Events and Promotions Manager. “We are
thrilled to participate in the show and are planning an exciting stand
with lots for visitors to enjoy. We have been exhibiting at the
Autosport International Show for more than five years and are delighted
to be coming back in 2009.”
“We
are really excited that Subaru are coming back to Autosport
International as they are one of the top names for competition based
road cars, having so successfully created a strong identity between
their success in world rallying and their road going models,” said
Haymarket Exhibitions’ Show Director Ian France.
In
addition to Subaru’s latest offerings, visitors can expect to see a
phenomenal range of cars on display with the biggest names in
motorsport in attendance. There will also once again be demonstrations
and races with exceptional vehicles on Europe’s largest indoor track in
the Live Action Arena, making the show a must-see for anyone passionate
about motorsport.
