The Nikon Indy 300 might be 14 days away, but fans of entertainment on
the Gold Coast need not wait until Thursday October 23-26 to satisfy
their cravings for action with more than 35 events listed on the
Official Offtrack Events Calendar.
Featuring everything from auto shows to go kart racing to Jazz shows
and Swing Dancing, Business and Driver breakfasts, Bartercard Miss Indy
judging and parties galore, the Official Offtrack Events Calendar has
something for everyone. One event in particular will kick off the Event week action in a different way with the Australian Premiere of the movie DEATH RACE on Saturday October 18 at Birch Carroll and Coyle, Pacific Fair. DEATH RACE is the ultimate car action movie where tricked-out cars and sexy female navigators combine to create the most extreme racing competition. International action star Jason Statham (the Transporter series, The Bank Job) leads the action-thriller’s cast as three-time speedway champion who is forced to compete in the DEATH RACE with in-mates from the Country’s toughest prison. Nikon Indy 300 Entertainment & Events Manager Josh Martin said it would be the first time an event such as the DEATH RACE premiere would be included in the Official Offtrack Event Calendar. “The DEATH RACE premiere will be something a bit different for us this year, and I really encourage anyone that is interested in film to listen out for giveaways to the Premiere or get on down to the cinema when it opens nationally on October 30,” said Martin. ”If you are not lucky enough to win a ticket to the Premiere there are still plenty of activities on the schedule no matter what your interest to provide the perfect lead-up and accompaniment to Australia’s Premier Motorsport Event.” With 96 hours of non-stop excitement over October 23-26 as the Gold Coast comes alive to the sound of the IndyCar Series burning up the track and Australia’s own V8 Supercars scorching around one of the most famous beach-side cities in the world, the event is the hottest ticket in town.
