Fujitsu racing hit the track at Bathurst PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 09 October 2008
The Fujitsu Racing team of Jason Bright and Adam Macrow have stretched the legs of the Ford V8 Supercar during the opening day of practice for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. In the opening practice session of the day Bright set the 10th fastest time. The next two sessions were more about setting the car up for the race as well as giving Macrow as much track time as possible.

“The car was very good out of the box this morning,” said Bright.

“The track had little grip, but we were still able to set a top-10 time.

“I was more than happy to let Adam do the majority of the driving in the other sessions as tomorrow we will be chasing a qualifying time.

The extended time behind the wheel was welcomed by Macrow.

“It was important that I got time in the car and made sure that I was comfortable,” said Macrow.

“It was not about setting super quick times – that’s Jason’s job tomorrow.

“The car feels very good and I’m sure it will be a very good race package.”
Fujitsu Racing Chief Engineer Geoff Slater was pleased with the day’s running.

“We had a lot to get through today,” said Slater.

“We ran the car with low and high fuel loads which is important for the race on Sunday. Both drivers reported that the balance was very good and that is pleasing ahead of the weekend.

“We will put in our race spec engine tonight and chase a good qualifying time with Jason tomorrow.”

Action at Mount Panorama continues tomorrow with twin practice sessions from 9.20am with qualifying in the afternoon from 2.05pm.
