BENTLEY & MASON TO MAKE FR BARC DEBUT WITH RUSSELL RACING
Andrew Bentley and Ben Mason will make their Formula Renault BARC debuts this Sunday at Snetterton having agreed late deals with leading entrant Russell Racing to contest the fifth and sixth rounds of the 2006 season.
The Doncaster-based team ran the two category rookies during a general test session at the Norfolk venue today, both drivers delighted with their progress and thoroughly enjoying their respective first tastes of Formula Renault machinery.
Originally from Barnard Castle in Durham, Andrew is a former BRDC Scholarship Winner and having contested his maiden race season in the BRDC run single-seater series in 2004, he went on to finish a highly creditable third overall in that year’s UK Formula Ford Winter Championship.
Form there, the Northampton resident contested a part-season in the full 2005 UK Formula Ford Championship but ambitions to race in the North American Formula Star Mazda series have unfortunately fallen by the wayside after just one meeting due to budgetary restrictions.
