DEJA-VU FOR METCALFE AT KNOCKHILL?
Although disappointed with the outcome of Formula Renault UK qualifying at Knockhill this afternoon, championship front-runner Jeremy Metcalfe will be hoping for a case of raceday deja-vu tomorrow during his first ever competitive start at the Scottish venue.
The 18-year-old, who was forced to miss the entirety of Friday’s three-hour official test session as it clashed with vital A-level exams, ventured out onto the 1.3-mile Fife circuit for the first time this weekend during round seven qualifying, achieving the 14th fastest time before going on to post the 15th quickest lap in round eight qualifying.
In all reality, the BillChaser-backed AKA Lemac sensation should be pleased with the improvements he made throughout both 20-minute sessions to end up just half a second adrift of the pace-setters. But in his quest to at least maintain second position in the category standings, Jeremy ended qualifying less than happy.
