YOKOHAMA ADVAN RUNNERS IMPROVE LE MANS GRID POSITIONS
All four Yokohama runners managed to improve their overall position through the two sessions today. The two Courage Competition cars were top ten runners through the evening finishing in fifth and tenth . In the GT2 class, the Yokohama runners put in credible performances, in particular the Seikel Motorsports car holding second in class from the start of the second two-hour session and ultimately finishing third.
Qualifying for a 24 Hour race is theoretically less important on race outcome than for normal race length. A few car lengths on the grid makes little difference in a race that is won on reliability and consistency rather than sprint pace, but at Le Mans the teams are all vying for the glory of pole position and the psychological advantage of being at the top of the time sheets.
