SAMANTHA REID STARS FOR FORMULA FORD IN BERT'S FAMILY FEUD

| Formula Ford's Samantha Reid is set to star alongside fellow Ford drivers in a Ford v Holden special episode of Bert's Family Feud.
Taking a starring role in the 'Mad Monday' episode, Reid will appear on air nationally on Monday 19 June at 5.30pm.
Joining the young star of the Australian Formula Ford Championship for the show was V8 Supercar stars Craig Lowndes (Team Betta Electrical) and Jason Bright (CAT Ford Performance Racing) as well as Pirtek Rally Team driver Michael Guest.
Pitted against the Ford's fab-four was Holden's Greg Murphy, Cameron McConville as well as Garth and Leanne Tander.
The Ford family played for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
"It was a lot of fun and while I was a little nervous to begin with Craig and the boys took me under their wing and we had a great time," said Samantha Reid, who at just 19 was the youngest competitor on the show.
"To be able to do something like this is great, I was surrounded by champions, many of whom started their career in Formula Ford not too many years ago.and I got to meet Bert!"
The episode was shot in front of a vocal audience, decked out in their favourite team's colours, cheering on their favourite team.
"The crowd were going wild, it was hard to keep your focus on the game at times, but I think it is safe to say they had as much fun as we did."
"I can't wait to see it on TV; it will definitely be an episode you won't forget in a hurry."
Round three of the Australian Formula Ford Championship is at Queensland Raceway on July 21-23.
Samantha Reid
Samantha Reid is the only female to be selected for the CAMS 2004, 2005 and 2006 Women's Driver Development Program at the Australian Institute of Sport and the only female driver in the Australian Formula Ford Championship.
Samantha Reid began her career in Midgets at the Southern Go-Kart Club, Bolivar in 1995 driving a Benson.
After winning the State Title in 1997, Samantha continued to impress with podium finishes in Karting Rookies, again driving the Benson.
From 1999-2001 Samantha raced in a range of karting categories including Jnr Light, Heavy and Clubman, and in 2001 was runner-up in the Junior Clubman State Championship.
Driving a Ray 1995, Samantha came second in the SA Formula Ford series and 11th in the Victorian series in 2004.
This season Samantha aims for a top ten finish in the championship and then to progress in open wheelers in Australia and overseas.
