TRIO IN LINE FOR CLIO CUP RETURN
Ray MacDowall (Carlisle) makes his return to ELF Renault Clio Cup action at the Renault Race Day at Knockhill on Sunday, 18th June. The 52-year-old is teaming up once again with Wednesbury-based Total Control Racing, with whom MacDowall competed in the 2003 and 2004 Renault Clio Winter Cup Championships.
MacDowall, a Company Director, has considerable race experience at Knockhill after competing at the 1.30-mile Scottish circuit in the Renault Spider Cup and Renault Clio Cup. Although his last appearance in 2002 ended in retirement after just four laps, the former British Touring Car Championship driver is confident of putting on a good show at his local circuit this time around.
MacDowall’s best campaign came in the 2003 ELF Renault Clio Winter Cup when he finished second to Paul Rivett. In 2005, he completed a half season in the Global GT Lights series and this year took Club Class victory in round four of the MINI Challenge at Brands Hatch.
