MARSHALL SEEKS DIVINE INTERVENTION TO KEEP PERFECT WINTON RECORD
Undefeated at Winton Raceway, Glenfords AEG driver Marcus Marshall admits he'll need a little divine intervention this weekend if he is to walk away with his Winton record intact, despite significant gains in recent weeks.
While the young Glenfords Racing outfit has taken major steps over the last two rounds with the number 20 Falcon, Marshall accepts that pulling off a round win, like he has done every other time he's been to Winton through Formula Ford (2002) and Carrera Cup (2003), will require a little help from above.
"Winton has been a great circuit for me, having won the round each time I've been here, but with such a young team in this strong, competitive championship, it would be fair to say we will be needing a little divine intervention if that record is to still stand at the end of the weekend," Marcus Marshall said today.
"The team has done a fantastic job in the last month and have made some massive improvements to the Glenfords AEG Flacon. We're not yet in a position to challenge for a win just yet but we're definitely making some significant inroads."
Marshall's success at Winton began in 2002, winning the round in the Australian Formula Ford Championship, then winning the 2003 Carrera Cup round before heading overseas where he raced in the ChampCar series.

Earlier today, the Glenfords Racing V8 Falcon set the 30th fastest time in the 2.5-hour practice session. After testing various race setups, the Glenfords Racing team completed 33 laps with Marshall pushing the Glenfords AEG Falcon hard to find the cars limits.
Qualifying and race one of round four of the V8 Supercars Championship Series begins at 11.00am tomorrow. The round concludes on Sunday with the final two races, including the reverse grid race, which begins at 11am.
