Murray's Season Ends on a Roll
After early success, Dan Murray's rookie Sprintcar season ended last Saturday night with his Comstar Internet car rolling heavily in the second round of heats during the season finale MASQ club meeting at Brisbane International Speedway.
The first round of heats brought a satisfying result for the Comstar Internet team, finishing the race in fourth position.
Starting on the outside of the front row, Murray had to concede first place to Darrell Hodges, who had a run up the inside into the first corner.
Unfortunately a couple minor errors during the opening stages of the race saw Tony Wynne pass Murray on the third lap, and Rodney Maxwell passed Murray after a race restart, putting Murray down into fourth position.
The rest of the race was gripping, with Murray and Muir dicing for position, and Murray narrowly retained fourth place, after winning a side-by-side battle to the chequered flag on the final lap.
