WAKEFIELD LOOMS FOR ADRAD RACING TO KICKSTART SEASON
| Attachment 16457 | | Bryce Washington heads into turn 1 in Adelaide (Race Torque Media / Craill) | Adelaide-based ADRAD Racing and driver Bryce Washington head to Goulburn’s Wakefield Park Raceway this weekend for round two of the 2006 WPS Carrera Cup Australia Championship, and the team has just one thing on their minds.
That will simply be to have a better weekend than the first championship round at Adelaide, where the Bryce Washington’s ADRAD Porsche GT3 Cup Car was the innocent victim in a turn two crash just 500 meters into the start of the season almost two months ago.
The unfortunate incident was a significant setback to the team’s opening round hopes, coming after a solid 10th place effort in qualifying on the Adelaide streets, and places them a lowly 21st in the championship standings with six points.
Although it’s been a long time between rounds, Washington has kept himself match fit with a variety of racing exploits.
The 21-year-old Adelaidian has since raced competitively inside the top ten at the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix Carrera Cup Races, won the third round of the Australian GT Championship at Oran Park two weeks ago and last weekend showed plenty of speed in the fourth GT round at Phillip Island driving the teams older model 996 GT3.
