Hamilton loses pole and championship lead

Nelson Piquet Jr will start tomorrow’s race from pole position after Lewis Hamilton and five other drivers had their two best laps stripped from them for not heeding yellow flag warnings. Lewis (ART Grand Prix), Gimmi Bruni (Trident Racing), Nicolas Lapierre (Arden International), Tristan Gommendy (iSport International), Lucas di Grassi (Durango) and Javier Villa (Racing Engineering) were the drivers to be penalised.

The decision of the stewards means that Nelson lands pole position and the two points that go along with it. He now leads the championship on 30 points ahead of Lewis on 26 and Nicolas on 25 points.
