[Rallying] Dodd And Bargery Receive Royal Recognition |

DODD AND BARGERY RECEIVE ROYAL RECOGNITION
Marcus Dodd (Poole) and Andrew Bargery (Brighton) were last week awarded an honorary testimonial from the Royal Humane Society for an act of bravery during last year's Swansea Bay National Rally. Both Marcus and Andrew jumped into a lake to aid Paul Jones and Hamish Campbell whose rally car had landed upside down and was totally submerged.
With the car rapidly filling with water and Paul and Hamish unable to escape the scene, Marcus and Andrew waded to the stricken vehicle and brought the pair to safety. Prince Edward and Sophie, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, presented the testimonial inscribed on vellum in a ceremony at Government House, Douglas at the weekend.
The citation is awarded to someone who has put himself or herself in considerable danger to save the life of someone else.
