17th BRANDS HATCH SUPERPRIX A ROARING SUCCESS
The HSCC's 17th Annual Superprix held this weekend was a superb race meeting with over 450 entries competing in the 15 races held over two days.
With four races for historic Formula one cars covering the years 1950 -1978 it gave victories to Rod Jolley (Lister Jaguar), Michael Schryver (Lotus 18), Chris Perkins (Surtees) and Mike Wrigley (Hesketh).
Another team to do well were Richard Styles who finished third in the World Sports Car Masters series driving a Lola T70 spider and being voted driver of the day on Saturday. Peter Dunn took the same car to victory in Sunday's race.
Brands Hatch local Tony Trimmer won his race with a F5000 Lola to also earn himself a driver of the day award on Sunday. A good crowd of spectators attended.
Watch out for our next visit to Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit on 3rd - 4th June with races for Group C cars from the 80s. Orwell Supersports, Thunderous Can-Am cars and nimble 2 litre sports cars.
Also on offer is a flavour of the Race of Champions from our Derek Bell Trophy grid with F1 and F5000 cars encouraged to come and battle it out like in the non championship race's heyday.
Great racing and a great day out.
