Nathan Freke - Brands Hatch GP Circuit

Attachment 16354
Newnet sponsored racing driver Nathan Freke had his first taste of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit last Friday. Testing the Jamun Racing Mygale / Ford Duratec race car, nathan took the rare opportunity to test on the full Brands track in preparation for the Championship round there later in the year. Despite the track being very crowded making it difficult to get a clear lap to set competitive times, nathan drew on all of his experience to record the quickest time of the day on old tyres. The team decided not to waste a set of new rubber because of the congestion, and save the tyres for this weeks test at Donington Park, the venue for the next round of the championship in just over a weeks time. Commented Nathan, ' it was very difficult to get any clear track, so setting a good time was difficult, but only one driver went quicker all day and he had new tyres on, I am confident that with new rubber I can beat that time. I am now looking forward to the next round and this weeks test at Donington. Unfortunately because of work commitments I missed the last test day there.' The Donington rounds of the Formula Ford National Championship are on 20th / 21st May, full details can be found on www.ukformulaford.co.uk
