EPTON MAKES WELCOME RETURN TO FORMULA RENAULT UK

David Epton, Formula Palmer Audi Vice-Champion, has been confirmed as Scorpio Motorsport’s second driver in the 2006 Formula Renault UK Championship and will make his welcome return to the team at Oulton Park next weekend, 13th/14th May.

The 25-year-old, who currently resides in Preston but originally hails from Fleet in Hampshire, is set to make his official return to action at the Cheshire venue on Friday during the pre-race test session ahead of the third and fourth rounds of the season.

Last year was by far David’s most successful since starting his single-seater career in 2002, ending his maiden season of Formula Palmer Audi competition tied on points with eventual champion Joe Tandy.

His Formula Renault UK debut came with Scorpio during the 2002 Winter Championship and after continuing with the team into the main 2003 season, where he achieved a career-best race result of seventh position at Oulton Park, David contested several rounds in 2004 with Motaworld Racing before switching to Formula Palmer Audi in 2005.
